Victoria previously wrote a book She’s On The Money on how to sort and manage your finances in general, before following up with this more specific book on investing.

What is Investing with She’s On The Money about

As the name of the book suggests, Investing with She’s On The Money is all about investing, things to do before investing and what to keep in mind once you have started.

The book starts with understanding your money mindset and risk, then moves on to how to set yourself up financially prior to you starting to invest, before getting into investment options and strategies.

Investing with She’s On The Money has included information on how to make investment decisions and ideas on how to construct your portfolio based on your risk profile.

Chapters you can find in the book include:

  • Why do people invest, anyway?
  • A deep dive into shares
  • Ethical and ESG investing
  • Investment strategies
  • ans so on!

On top of these, Investing with She’s On The Money also talks about Australian superannuation scheme and taxation that relates to investing.

The aim of the book is to give the reader well-rounded, easy to understand information about investing, what it is, what you can invest in and things you need to consider when doing it.

Investing with She’s On The Money takes the jargon out of the world of investing

My review of Investing with She’s On The Money

One of my favourite things about Investing with She’s On The Money is the fact that it is written by a qualified and practicing (previously) financial adviser.

Victoria’s experience helping people start investing and making plans to invest is obvious from the way the book is written and how she considers all the things related to investing, before and after actually starting.

Investing with She’s On The Money is beginner friendly and easy to understand as it is jargon free with graphs and visuals to illustrate the points that the book makes.

The book also has a very hands on attitude, encouraging the reader to get started on their investing journey as they read with space to write down goals, thoughts and ideas as they relate to the chapters.

While personally I don’t consider myself as a beginner, I still found Investing with She’s On The Money a very enjoyable read, motivating and inspiring.

My biggest takeaways were around investment strategies and really understanding how to decide what I am working towards with investing and what kind of strategies to use.

That might seem odd considering what I study, but knowing something in theory and then implementing it to your own life are two very different things!

Investing with She’s On The Money has given me a well needed reminder and direction to sort out my investment portfolio so it will better serve the purposes I want it to serve!

I can definitely recommend Investing with She’s On The Money, whether you are completely new to investing or have already started.

While you won’t find the book telling you what to do (only a financial adviser you have encaged with can do that), you will be given options, encouraged to consider your own circumstances and given tools to start yourself.

Some topics are written from Australian perspective (retirement saving scheme and taxation) but the basic concepts of investing are applicable anywhere so even if you’re not based in Australia, this book is well worth the read.

(And to be honest, the basics of retirement saving schemes and taxation are similar to a degree in most places, it is the details where the difference is, although those details can change things significantly so make sure you are aware of your country’s equivalents!)

All great journeys start with a single step, and now is the time to take yours.
